My Christian friend:
One has to have notice how some people can get very angry! Yes, they are of a particular persuasion, one that never seems happy even when they win, and are extremely violent when they lose. This was so obvious after the Supreme Court over-turned; finally, the poorly argued Roe vs. Wade decision. The way many reacted you’d have thought abortions were suddenly outlawed? They weren’t! Instead, now in an actual democratic process our states will vote on what to do within their own jurisdiction. Most, if not all, will restrict abortions in some way, many have already, and prayerfully what are called late-term abortions will be abolished. And perhaps we as Christians can hope for more. But these “progressives” are screaming that this decision has ended democracy, that the “fascists” are coming to deliberately kill women, and we are entering a new “Dark Age” of ignorance and folly. Of course, this is very irrational!
Yet, irrationality seems to be their natural state. Didn’t use the right pronoun? Please, if you have a full beard and are dressed like a woman, I’m a bit bemused, but more I’m saddened. They insist that “men” can become pregnant, but be ready for their fury when you correctly state only women can get pregnant. “Trans women” (men “transitioning” to be women?) are placed in female prisons, and we hear of rapes. Why are they surprised? When young boys on estrogen will dominate girls’ track meet, an obvious man destroys female swimming records, I’m perplexed. Were these not the same people who demanded equal opportunity for female athletic, and now they would destroy it all?[1] We have “Drag Queen Story Hour” at libraries, and given the antics it borders on child abuse. But don’t say anything or you’re homophobic. I could go on, but is this not what they wanted? So why the anger, what’s the real problem?
Maybe it’s this? Ask them about Jesus Christ! It can be quite revealing. Some make a good show of being Christian, but their deeds say otherwise. But most make it clear they do not just despise Christianity, they hate it. And never want to hear of Jesus, ever! There seems to be a deep hated toward our faith, and all that is gracious, good, and sacred. However, if you’ll just be silent, compromise, accept Jesus as maybe a kind teacher, and Christianity is no better than any other “superstition,” then everything will be just fine.
But that’s not an option. And that’s why you see them chipping away at our Judaic-Christian civilization. The very culture that has brought us all these wonders, beauty, joy, even electrical appliances and airplanes. They attack marriage and families. Can’t have mothers and fathers raising well-adjusted and happy children! Chip away at education and our history; make it foul and ugly so our culture seems sordid. Slice away at our laws that protect us. It’s not the criminal’s fault, but ours, so just accept the rise in crime. If they can’t destroy our faith and the world that this Christian faith has built, their hate will continue to chip away at our core values; faith, family, and freedom. They want none of this. They want people fearful, hopeless, dependent, and with faith only in them.
This obsession of theirs, this new religion, is so hollow and hopeless. We have Christ Jesus, and don’t need them and this they can’t tolerate! The fire has indeed been kindled. This is what our Lord meant when He said “Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No…! It’s to be fire. (Lk. 12:49-50).
Let us just “Oppose…those of corrupt mind and counterfeit faith…they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all…” (2 Tim.3:8-9).
